The "Expressive Cultures of the African Diaspora" is a research-creation project centered at The Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas at York University. It explores the cultural impact of the African diaspora in the modern world through the expressive forms of art, music, religion, mythology and history. The project team is composed of scholars from humanities, the social sciences and the arts from 11 different countries. This website includes profiles of Co-Applicants, Collaborators and Partner Institutions and representative samples of our work.
Cultures expressives de la diaspora africaine est un projet de recherche-création basé au Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas à l'Université York. Ce projet explore l'impact africain sur la culture du monde moderne au travers de différentes formes d'art, par la religion, la mythologie et l'histoire. L'équipe du projet est composée de chercheurs provenant des sciences humaines et sociales et des arts de 11 pays.
